Norwood School is a 750 pupil secondary school constructed in the 1960’s. The school was substantially refurbished and prefunded as part of the Building Schools for the Future programme.
Fluid were brought into the project by Barron and Smith Architects to review the preferred alternative schemes and take the project through the two year construction stage.
The refurbishment strengthened its specialisation in Performing and Visual Arts. Roll was increased to 1000 and included an expanded sixth form. The project included a new biomass boiler facility and improvements to the fabric, all helping a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating to be achieved. On this project, Fluid also provided Flood Risk and below ground drainage design services.
