Mount Pleasant

The project involves the construction of a new office building in Clerkenwell behind a retained facade.

The structure consists of steel portal frames with in situ concrete on Omnia precast planks spanning between the steel beams. This system was chosen as the clear span of the floor is approximately 12 metres and a concrete flat slab was deemed inappropriate as the thickness required would restrict the services zone.

The building will be an exemplar of green design, with large tanks of cool water at basement level stored and pumped through the building to cool the spaces and areas of the external cladding.
