The existing building comprised ground, first and second floors. The new extension added a third and fourth floor.

The existing building was some 10 metres tall and the new works added a 6 metre two-storey extension, thus increasing the height by approximately 60 percent. This is a significant extension as apart from the extra dead load the new extension attracts very significant additional wind forces to act on the building. In addition to the two-storey extension, the scheme also features a CLT lift shaft, fitted by a specialist contractor.
