The project originates from the vision of slotting a modular box into the rear of a traditional Victorian Terrace. This was made possible by the insertion of two cantilever trusses supported by reinforcing elements of the existing building and the new basement structures. The effect is in the ground floor projecting out and floating over the new basement extension, allowing light into the basement space below.
