This project involved the addition of a two-storey extension to an existing Victorian and 1930's building to form the new 4th and 5th floors. The addition of a two-storey steel frame onto the existing load-bearing masonry walls was designed such that it could span 18 metres between the primary party walls. The complexity of the project was emphasised by not having the luxury of a crane. All the steel members had to be spliced and hoisted up to the existing roof level prior to assembly.
