The Whitstable Medical Centre is a new clinic building being constructed in Kent. A key factor of the design is to provide a building that could accommodate a large number of visitors and patients while still feeling intimate in scale. The structure comprises a steel frame with concrete and steel composite beams and is supported on piled foundations. The building envelope comprises red cedar cladding on battens with an insulated cavity and an internal block leaf.
