This project involved the refurbishment of a Victorian school building to update the facilities then required by the school. We created large double height openings divided by columns sensitive to the proposed use. In addition, we designed a timber platform that steps up and down in level to form small mezzanine floors and covered areas along the length of the building. This was created using ship-building techniques. Work took place during the summer holidays and the subsequent term time with the contractor sequencing works to suit the operation of the schools's activities.
