The project involved the construction of a new arts & craft wing for an existing 1950s primary school. The new wing is at first floor level and is accessed by stairs and a new lift core. Part of our input was to assess the implications of constructing the new space. It was necessary to ensure that the materials used were relatively light-weight to avoid having to strengthen the existing structure.
