Archway Early Years Centre will provide a new welcoming and stimulating 'creative environment', extending the existing Children's Centre services at Archway. The building's design compliments the existing nursery, using prefabricated timber curtain walling toward the garden elevation, and providing spaces that offer a high degree of flexibility, whilst also being a sustainable development. After extensive option appraisals a Cross-laminated timber panel system from KLH, Austria was adopted for the build; the first use of this system in the UK. This provided a quick, economic and low energy construction.
