The proposed intervention in West Street is conceived, firstly, as a completion of the landscape of Somerset House. Our involvement was principally in the structural engineering of a new two-storey insertion sited in an existing courtyard currently underused. The scheme provides conference facilities, meeting rooms etc with the new roof level providing a raised courtyard addressing the levels of the Strand.
