At Fluid, there is a tradition of having lunch together on Fridays. For the last few years, we have invited guests and there is normally a lunch time talk on a subject chosen by one of the staff.

The discussion is very varied and has embraced subjects ranging from Corbusier's work in Chandigarh to the failure of resin fixings in the Boston tunnel collapse. Sometimes our guests give the talk themselves and its a chance to get to know more of the people in the practice and their personal interests.

Previous guests have included MAKE, John Eger Architects, Knox Bhavan Architects, A Studio, Conran Associates, Devereux, Surface Architects and Chapman Taylor amongst many others.

We regularly go out as an office and visit many of the projects we have been working on.

In the past we have been to Barcelona to enjoy the sights and receive a well deserved break. As well as taking in the diverse architecture from Gaudi to Mies, we spent time as a group celebrating what the city had to offer during the day and in the evenings.

Occasionally we have social evenings with Architects and Designers, in order to talk about our work and to get to know each other better.

Before the Christmas break, the company takes all the employees out for a Christmas Party where we enjoy an evening of relaxing and getting merry. Previous locations have included TAS and Tamesa in the OXO Tower.
