Staircase, Private Residence

As part of a refurbishment of a Grade II listed house we were asked to work on the design of a new spiral staircase from ground to lower ground. The stair consists of a plate metal outer string with a perforated inner string rising sharply to accentuate the verticality of the stair. The soffit of the stair is in polished plaster and the treads are smoked and oiled oak.
