The Cross Street project involved the refurbishment of a basement and ground floor apartment in an existing 4 storey building. The works also included considerable landscaping in the rear garden area to afford better natural light to the basement space. As part of the work a single storey kitchen pod was installed, bridging between the garden retaining walls and the main structure of the house. The roof of the pod appears to float above the double glazing and this was achieved by inserting a hidden 40mm square solid rod at the junction of the main glass elevation and the glass return.
